It was also the last time we won 2 consecutive games against Liverpool. Our record in all games against them since that day is played 95 - won 15 - drawn 27 - lost 53

If we win up there this week, I'll go absolutely mental. A few draws in my time but no wins as of yet. Never seen us win at Chelsea or Leeds either. In fact, I'm not sure if I've ever seen us beat Leeds anywhere!

Just looked, we have only beat Leeds once since 1981!

We've never won at Bolton either...wouldn't mind playing them sometime soon!

Abou played a blinder against Leeds at Upton Park. 1998, I think.

Nigel Winterburn scored the winner against Leeds at Elland Road - in 2000 maybe.

But yes, wins against Leeds have been very few and far between. We even found those games difficult in the Championship.

I saw us beat Leeds 7-0 in the League Cup circa late 60s ear;y 70s.

I also saw us beat Sunderland 8-0 on my birthday.

Happy days - at least we regularly played attacking football in those days - something that that moron BFS is incapable of doing unless bot Carroll & nolan are injured and then he has to play Valencia, Sakho & Amalfitano

Sakho is crucial to this game him and Carroll need to be all over Thier shaky defence from the get go....

I'm reasonably optimistic about this game

Sure we beat Bolton in the mid 90s? 3-0 iirc - Bish-Bosh and a cracking solo goal from Danny Williamson.

This was Dave Bickles debut, here's a bit about him

Dave Bickles started his career as a youth player for West Ham United. He made his debut for West Ham at Anfield in a 2–1 win in September 1963;[2] the last occasion that West Ham beat Liverpool on their own ground.

During a game against Liverpool 1966 Bickles was injured in a clash with Ian St John and dislocated his shoulder. Never fully diagnosed by West Ham doctors Bickles was accused of not putting in the effort. After only 28 appearances in all competitions for West Ham he was transferred to Crystal Palace in October 1967. Palace medical staff fully diagnosed Bickle's injury problems and discovered that a piece of bone had broken-off from his shoulder.

Injury meant that he failed to play for Palace and in 1968 moved to Colchester United before becoming player/manager for Romford in the Southern League.

Bickles had a short spell managing Collier Row in the Spartan League in the 1980s. Leaving football Bickles took up teaching in East Ham where, as a PE teacher, he spotted Lee Hodges playing and recommended him to The Hammers. In the 1990s he was invited by West Ham youth coach Tony Carr, with whom he had played in the 1960s, to join the coaching staff. Ill health struck Bickles in 1997 when he was diagnosed with kidney cancer; the cause of his death on 1 November 1999.

A few days later, on 4 November 1999, before a UEFA Cup game against Steaua Bucharest a minute's silence was held for Bickles and fellow West Ham player Johnny Byrne who had also recently died.

Would have fancied it earlier in the season, but they've picked up recently and we're off the boil a little bit.

If Song and Noble play like they did in the last two games, they will punish us. Unlike Hull and Bristol City, they have players who can put chances away.

It was that 3-0 game he's on about. What a fucking kip Burnden Park was, bleeding Co-op store at one end.
